KS 4 - GCSE
The GCSE course is based on 4 parts:
1. Listening & Appraising (20% of overall marks)
* Pupils must complete a 1 hour listening and appraising test, based on the five areas of study.

2. Performing (40% of overall marks)
* Pupils must perform one SOLO and one GROUP piece.
Must be recorded by the end of March in Year 11.
Internally assessed and moderated by AQA.
3. Composing (20% of overall marks)
* Pupils must compose a piece of music in a chosen style, based on 2 areas of study.
This must be done during supervised time in school. (25 hours).
Must be recorded by the end of March, Year 11.
Internally assessed and moderated by AQA.
4. Composing & Appraising (20% 0f overall marks)
* Pupils must compose a piece of music based on a set task by the exam board.
This must be done during supervised time in school. (20 hours).
* Pupils must then appraise your composition (2 hours).
Must be completed and recorded by March in Year 11.
Externally Assessed by AQA.
