Lunchtime
The vast majority of children live very close to the College and some prefer to go home at lunchtime. However, a significant number take school dinners or bring their own packed lunches.
Whilst the College does not prevent pupils from visiting local shops we prefer the children to remain on the premises where there is close supervision, access to good healthy food and opportunities to study or become involved in extra-curricular activities.
Manor College’s Dining Hall is very popular, with children able to select from a wide range of hot and cold foods. Importantly, all of the meals are quality controlled and meet nutritional and healthy food standards. The College uses a swipe card system and cards are credited by placing cash in a special machine.
Parents are able to monitor how much money is being spent each day and what their children are consuming!. Parents and carers who wish to make enquiries about eligibility for free meals can do so by completing a form which is available on request, from the College Office.
Provision of School Dinners
Parents who wish to apply for free school meals can do so by collecting an application form from the College. Applications are then assessed by HartlepoolChildren’s Services Authority, Civic Centre, Victoria Road, Hartlepool, TS24 8AY.
Parents who qualify for free school meals qualify for a £10 discount against the cost of a Manor College blazer.
