TEACHER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Required for September 2012, an enthusiastic, committed and energetic PE teacher to join a successful Department. The post is open to experienced PE teachers as well as NQT’s and is to teach boys PE.

Manor College is a large comprehensive school situated in the South of Hartlepool. As a school, we are acutely aware of the individual needs of our pupils. The focus of all of our work is to ensure that our pupils make progress and achieve their potential.

At Manor College, all of our children are regarded as individuals and we ensure that the five years spent with us are about so much more than an education based upon exams; they are about an experience which will remain with our students for the rest of their lives.

Our ethos is about achievement at all levels, pride in our College and ourselves, and encouragement for each other. Our belief in care, courtesy and consideration in all that we do ensures that Manor College is about regard for each other and regard for our wider community.

The department consists of eight committed specialist members of teaching staff, a swimming instructor and a technician. The successful applicant will be required to teach mainly Boys PE at both Key Stages, BTEC and GCSE examination level in a full range of activities.

The PE department is a core department within the College and standards are extremely high. The department actively engages in extra curricular activities and enters many competitions across all sporting areas at local, regional and national level.

Manor College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal records check via the Criminal Records Bureau.
