Performing Arts Department
Manor College of Technology’s Performing Arts Department is one of the most successful departments in the college. Pupils at KS3 have lessons in Music and Drama each week with Dance covered in PE lessons and as an extra curricular activity.
Music and Drama are offered at GCSE and BTEC Performing Arts now allows pupils to achieve 4 GCSE’s in units covering drama, dance and music as well as the process of creating a production and the business side of the arts.
The Performing Arts Department excels in extra curricular activities. Three productions are produced each year involving over 100 pupils. Concerts are performed both in school and in the local community involving the Senior Chamber Choir, Junior Choir, Wind Ensemble, and various other groups and soloists.
The College has been awarded the Artsmark Silver award for the second time and endeavours to enable as many students as possible to access the arts both in and out of curriculum time.
