Leading Edge

Leading EdgeThe College is proud to report that we have been awarded ‘Leading Edge’ status by the Specialist Schools & Academies Trust.

Leading Edge was awarded to Manor because we are a DfE High Performing Specialist School and because of our reputation locally, regionally and nationally for assisting other schools. Manor College will be expected to share best practice with other schools and we shall build upon the work already achieved as part of the National Mentor School Programme.

The College is already providing significant support for teachers as one of three National Centres of Excellence for the TEEP (Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme) and we have considerable experience of assisting Headteachers and Schools in relation to leadership, Modern Foreign Languages, E-learning, Mathematics, Early Years Professional Development and the development of a vision for transforming learning.

Manor has provided two Lead Practitioner Coordinators for the Trust and both Lesley Welsh (MFL) and Leanne Robson (Maths & E Learning) have presented at many National Conferences. Mr White (Headteacher) has won SSAT National Awards for his work as a Consultant Head and Mr Robson (Deputy Headteacher) has also presented at National Conferences and is credited with securing Innovation Zone Status for Hartlepool.

The SSAT’s decision to award Leading Edge Status to Manor gives us the opportunity to network with lots of other innovative Schools to raise achievement and to develop teaching and learning.
