Mr Watson's funeral

The Governing Body is sad to report to parents the loss of Mr Watson who died in Hartlepool Hospital on June 9 at the age of 88.
A former Headteacher of Jesmond Road Primary School, Mr Watson became Chair of Governors of Manor College of Technology in 1995 and was subsequently awarded the Life Presidency of the College in 2009.
A distinguished writer and compelling orator, Mr Watson was loved by everyone at Manor and as Mr White often states, he ‘sprinkled stardust on the children’.
Mr Watson was a member of the interview panel which appointed the new Headteacher in April 2011 and his very last duty was to assist with the appointment of the new Head Boy and Head Girl.
Mr Watson’s funeral was held in St George’s Church, Hartlepool on 17 June and the College’s Senior Chamber Choir, accompanied by former Head Girl, Stephanie Lowe, performed beautifully throughout the service attracting multiple commendations for their exemplary conduct.
The Governing Body wishes to express its condolences to Mr Watson’s family.
