Industrial Action by members of NUT and ATL 30th June 2011
Thursday 30th June 2011
As you will be aware, members of two teaching unions; ATL and NUT will be taking industrial action on Thursday 30th June 2011. As a consequence of this, a significant number of teachers and other key staff will not be in College on this day.
After careful consideration of matters relating to health and safety and the needs of pupils we have come to the decision that it will not be possible to run Manor College in the usual way on 30th June.
As such, Manor College will open for pupils in Year 11 who will be taught lessons as usual and should come equipped for their College day in full school uniform.
The College will not be open for pupils in Years 8,9 and 10 and unfortunately they will need to remain at home on this day. On Friday 1st July the College will be open as planned, this is our Activity Day.
This decision to close to Years 8,9 and 10 has not been taken lightly and I appreciate that it may cause inconvenience to many of you; I do apologise for this.
If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact the College. The matter is being dealt with by Anne Malcolm (Deputy Headteacher).
Mr A White
Headteacher
