Rugby Tour to South Africa in 2015

South Africa Tour 201514th November 2011

Manor College of Technology is delighted to announce their first ever Rugby Tour to South Africa in 2015. This is a very exciting project and we are all looking forward to getting the fund raising under way.

Hartlepool Borough Council has given the go ahead for this trip and we are absolutely delighted they have. This will mean that the pupils who go will have an experience of a lifetime and one they will never forget.

The tour is available to those pupils in Mr Gordon and Miss Marley’s year groups who play Rugby for the College. This trip will be a Rugby Tour first and a School Trip second.

We have initially held two meetings with parents and these have been very promising to say the least. Discussions with parents, the tour operator and the Senior Leadership Team at Manor have taken place and all is in agreement that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the students to experience what it is like to visit a “Rugby Mad” country.

The trip will take place at the beginning of July 2015, after the students have sat their last GCSE exam.

In the New Year we will be looking to begin our fund raising and take deposits from parents to secure their son’s place on the tour.

The deposit is £250 and is non – refundable. This is set by our tour operator and not Manor College of Technology.

If you would like to speak to me to discuss this further please do so and either ring the College on 01429 288338 or email me at pwallis@manorcollege.org.uk and arrange a time to come in and speak to me.

This will be an amazing opportunity for the students to experience a completely different culture and way of life.

I have experienced it in New Zealand back in 2001 and would do it all over again.
