Ski Trip - Serre Chevalier 2011
Sunday 30th January - Sunday 6th February 2011
It is 2 O’clock in the morning, Sunday 30th January 2011.
"What are 59 pupils and 6 members of staff doing standing in the freezing cold in the College’s car park?"
The answer – the annual ski trip is just about to begin!
On this cold morning we departed to the ski resort of Serre Chevalier in France.
It has 250 km of pistes, excellent off piste opportunities (as some of us found out!) and more trees than any other resort in Europe (as even more of us found out about!).
Arriving early Sunday afternoon, the group were soon kitted out with boots and skis ready for the excitement to begin.
The slopes were alive the next morning with the novice skiers desperately trying to stand up without slipping over or falling off the button lifts!
With tired legs and a good few bruises most of the group limped backed to the hotel at the end of the first day wondering what an earth we were doing there!
However, as the days passed amazing progress was made with the pupils zooming down greens, blues, reds and for some even a few blacks!
Of course there was also the après ski – the nail biting bingo game, ice skating, games night, bum boarding, the talent show (some acts will never be forgotten!) and the disco on the last night.

Sunday 6th February saw the tired but happy group return – thankfully most of us were still in one piece!
It had been an enjoyable and rewarding trip for all and once again the pupils had displayed the three C's of care, courtesy and consideration throughout the trip making them a joy to spend the week with.
