Requests for Absence/Holidays during the school year

We would like to highlight to parents and students that every lesson is important and every effort should be made to avoid missing school.

The College understands that, at times, parents will need to request that their son/daughter misses College for important occasions and family holidays, however, we limit authorised absence to 10 school days per academic year. Days missed in excess of this will be recorded as unauthorised.

There are also periods during the year when examinations take place and we therefore do not authorise absence of students in Y9, 10 and 11 during these times.

November 7th – November 17th 2011
November 28th – December 2nd 2011
January 10th – February 2nd 2012
March 1st – March 9th 2012
April 24th – April 25th (Art only) 2012
May 14th – June 27th 2012

Absence requests for a week or more will receive confirmation in writing informing parents as to whether the request has been successful or not.
