Year 9 - YKW - Cake Sale - Raffle - Sponsored Silence
Mrs K Whitehead got her Form Group involved by showing them some footage of the Haiti disaster that had been on the news over the weekend, and asked them how they felt. The pupils all said they wanted to help and Mrs Whitehead said "why don’t we?".
A couple of groups then formed to organise a raffle and cake sale.
The students e-mailed staff and other students for prizes to be donated and went around the college to sell raffle tickets, others made cakes and Brandon Roberts did a sponsored silence.
Sponsored Hair Shave
Declan Bradley of Year 9 had a close shave in aid of the Kilimantinde Trust, he had his golden locks chopped off.
His fundraising activity raised £200 for the charity. Paula Houghton, deputy year leader said "Declan is so caring and it's really good to see the young people showing that they want to help"
"He had watched and taken part in the fundraising for Haiti, but he didn't want us to forget about Kilimatinde, he really wanted to carry on raising money for them."
