Ofsted at Manor College of Technology

OfstedOfsted inspect and regulate to achieve excellence in the care of children and young people, and in education and skills for learners of all ages.

The new Ofsted brings together the wide experience of four inspectorates to make a greater difference for every child, and for all young people and adult learners, in England. Their educational, economic and social well-being will promote our success as a country.

OFSTED inspection took place on the 6th and 7th of November 2008. The InspectionTeam's overall judgment was that Manor College is a 'Good School with outstanding features' (equivalent to an A-). The Inspection Team's judgment is superior to the College's own self-assessment which is graded as '2' (Good) in Self Evaluation Form (SEF).

The OFSTED Inspection Team were hugely experienced having inspected more than 150 schools and during the informal feedback the Lead Inspector described the College as 'very impressive'. The Team received more than 850 parental questionnaries, a % response of unprecedented proportions. Parents support for the College was overwhelming and their fulsome praise undoubtedly contributed to the sucess of the Inspection.

From Headteacher Mr A S White, the most enduring statement in the OFSTED report for Manor College is the opening paragraph which states that

"Manor College of Technology is a good school with outstanding features. It enjoys the overwhelming support of parents.

Mutual respect and excellent relationships create a harmonious and vibrant community where staff and students support each other and students feel safe and secure.

Students are friendly and sensitive to the needs of others and their conduct and
attitudes to learning are outstanding."
